This medicine contains the active substance quetiapine, which belongs to the group of atypical antipsychotics. It is used to treat various mental disorders, including schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder and depression as part of combination therapy.

Pharmacological properties:

• Antipsychotic action: blocks dopamine (D2) and serotonin (5-HT2A) receptors.
• Sedative effect: especially pronounced at low doses (25-100 mg), used for insomnia and anxiety.
• Tranquilizing effect: relieves agitation and anxiety. 

Indications for use:

• Schizophrenia.
• ​​Bipolar disorder (manic and depressive episodes).
• Depression as part of combination therapy (as prescribed by a doctor).
• Sometimes used in small doses to treat insomnia or anxiety (only as prescribed by a doctor!).

Method of administration and dosage:

• Tablets are taken orally, without chewing, with water.
• The initial dose may be 25 mg once a day at night, especially if the goal is a sedative effect.
• The dosage is selected individually by the doctor depending on the diagnosis, the patient's condition and response to treatment.
• In the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, the dose is gradually increased to 300-800 mg / day.
• You should not stop taking it abruptly - a gradual withdrawal of the drug is necessary.
