Composition:
Each rectal suppository contains:
Active ingredients:
- Guaifenesin - 66.60 mg
- Oxomemazine - 3.33 mg
- Paracetamol - 66.60 mg
- Sodium benzoate - 66.60 mg.
Inactive ingredient:
Hard fat.
Description:
Rectal suppositories - a combined medicinal product containing paracetamol (analgesic and antipyretic), guaifenesin (expectorant), oxomemazine (sedating antihistamine), and sodium benzoate (expectorant). Used to relieve cough of various origins, reduce fever, and alleviate allergic symptoms.
Indications for Use:
- Treatment of dry and wet cough
- Allergic cough
- Cough caused by irritants.
Dosage and Method of Administration:
Children above 2 years:
3 suppositories daily.
Administer rectally.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to paracetamol or any component
- Medicines containing guaifenesin or oxomemazine must not be used in children under 2 years
- Use in children under 6 years requires medical supervision
- Respiratory insufficiency
- Hepatic insufficiency.
Precautions:
- Use with caution in patients with impaired liver or kidney function
- Use with caution in chronic malnutrition or dehydration
- If cough persists despite usual dosage, do not increase dose - re-evaluate clinical situation
- Do not use in children under 6 years without medical advice
- Persistent cough may indicate underlying disease - consult a physician if it lasts more than a few days
- Consider total paracetamol intake if taken with other products containing it
- May cause drowsiness or impaired alertness
- Use with caution in elderly (risk of orthostatic hypotension, dizziness, sedation), with chronic constipation or possible prostatic hypertrophy
- When used in children, rule out bronchial asthma or gastroesophageal disease before using oxomemazine.
Side Effects:
- Gastrointestinal discomfort
- Nausea
- Vomiting (especially in very large doses)
- Rashes, urticaria
- Angioedema
- Sleepiness
- Digestive disorders
- Thickening of bronchial secretions
- Dry mouth
- Blurred vision
- Constipation
- Urinary retention
- Rarely: agitation in children.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:
Not applicable.
Storage Conditions:
Store at temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
Keep out of reach of children.
Packaging:
Carton box containing  2 rotoplast moulds; each mould contains 5 rectal suppositories and an inner leaflet.
