Xoraxon 1 gm 1 I.M. vial

Composition:

• Active ingredient: Ceftriaxone sodium - 1 g
• Release form: bottle with powder for solution for intramuscular (i/m) administration
• Solvent (ampoule) included

Pharmacological properties:

• Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis
• Resistant to most beta-lactamases
• Penetrates well into body tissues and fluids, including the central nervous system (with inflammation of the meninges)

Indications for use:

The drug is used to treat infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by sensitive microorganisms:
• Respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, bronchitis)

• Abdominal infections (peritonitis, gastrointestinal infections)
• Sepsis
• Meningitis

• Prevention of postoperative infections

Method of administration and dosage:

• Intramuscular administration: the drug is dissolved in 3.5 ml of 1% lidocaine solution (for pain relief).
• Usual dose for adults: 1–2 g per day, once or in 2 doses
• For severe infections: up to 4 g per day
• The dose for children is selected individually (depending on body weight and diagnosis)
Important: do not administer the solution with lidocaine intravenously!
