Composition:
Each 10 ml of syrup contains:
10 mg loratidine.
Auxiliary components: Propylene glycol, glycerol, anhydrous citrus acid, sodium benzoate, sucrose, peach flavor and purification water.
Indications:
Claritin Syrup relieves allergy symptoms, including sneezing, runny nose, itchy / red eyes and itchy throat / nose. Claritin provides relief from symptoms that can be caused by over 200 different allergens. Claritin is an antihistamine and therefore interferes with the cascade caused by allergens. It provides 24hour relief for symptoms caused by allergens such as pollen, dust mites, pet dander and mold.
Mode of application:
Adults and children over 12 years old:
Take two teaspoons (10 ml) once a day.
Children aged 2 to 12 years old take according to their weight:
With a body weight of 30 kg and less:
One teaspoon (5ml) once a day.
Claritin is not recommended for children under 2 years of age.
Contraindications for use:
age up to 2 years (for syrup);
age up to 3 years (for tablets);
lactation period (breastfeeding);
rare hereditary diseases (violations of galactose tolerance, lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption) – due to the presence of lactose, which is part of the tablets;
deficiency of sucrase / isomaltase, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption due to the presence of sucrose, which is part of the syrup;
hypersensitivity to drug components.
The drug should be prescribed with caution to patients with severe hepatic dysfunction during pregnancy.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
The safety of using loratadine during pregnancy has not been established. The use of the drug Claritin during pregnancy is possible only if the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
Loratadine and its active metabolite are excreted in breast milk, therefore, when prescribing the drug during lactation, the issue of stopping breastfeeding should be decided.
Application for violations of liver function
Use the drug with caution in liver failure: the initial dose should be 10 mg (1 tab) every other day.
Application for impaired renal function
For patients with renal insufficiency, the initial dose should be 10 mg (1 tab.) Every other day.
Side effects:
There may be headache, nervousness, fatigue,
drowsiness, insomnia.
Increased appetite, dry mouth, hair loss.
