Composition:

Cefaclor 250 mg/5 ml.
Excipients: granules for preparing an oral suspension.

Product Description:

Bacticlor is a granule formulation for preparing an oral suspension containing 250 mg of cefaclor, intended for the treatment of bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, otitis media, skin infections, and infections of the throat and tonsils.
Cefaclor belongs to the second generation of cephalosporin antibiotics and is a broad‑spectrum oral antibiotic.

Properties of the Product:

Cefaclor is a second‑generation cephalosporin that exerts bactericidal activity against both gram‑positive and gram‑negative microorganisms.
It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death.

Indications for Use:

• Pneumonia and other lower respiratory tract infections.
• Otitis media. 
• Urinary and genital tract infections, including pyelonephritis, cystitis, and gonococcal urethritis. 
• Pharyngitis and tonsillitis. 
• Skin and wound infections. 
• Bronchitis and sinusitis.

Method of Administration and Dosage:

Follow the instructions of your physician or pharmacist.
Children over 5 years: 5 ml once daily.
For more severe infections such as otitis media, sinusitis, or infections caused by less sensitive microorganisms, 40 mg/kg/day divided into several doses is recommended, not exceeding a maximum daily dose of 1 g.
For beta‑hemolytic streptococcal infections, treatment should continue for at least 10 days.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to cefaclor or other cephalosporins.
A history of immediate or severe hypersensitivity to penicillin or other beta‑lactam antibiotics.
Hypersensitivity to any of the excipients.

Precautions:

Use with caution in patients with allergic reactions to beta‑lactam antibiotics.
If signs of hypersensitivity occur, the medication should be discontinued.
Use with caution in patients with impaired renal function.
Before starting therapy, the risk of cross‑allergy with penicillins should be assessed.

Adverse Reactions:

Diarrhea, insomnia, dizziness.
Hypersensitivity reactions including skin rash, itching, urticaria, and angioedema.
In rare cases, severe allergic reactions may occur.

Pregnancy and Lactation:

Use is possible only if prescribed by a physician after assessing the benefit‑risk ratio.
Cephalosporins are generally considered safe, but medical supervision is required.

Storage Conditions:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C in a dry place.
Store the prepared suspension at 2–8 °C and use within 7 days.
