Composition (per 1 tablet):

• Amoxicillin – 875 mg
• Clavulanic acid – 125 mg
Total dose: 1000 mg (1 g).

Augram is a combined broad-spectrum antibacterial drug containing amoxicillin (a semi-synthetic penicillin) and clavulanic acid (a beta-lactamase inhibitor). It is used to treat infections caused by susceptible microorganisms.

Pharmacological group:

• Mechanism of action: amoxicillin disrupts bacterial cell wall synthesis, while clavulanic acid inhibits beta-lactamases, preventing antibiotic inactivation.
• Spectrum of activity: effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including strains resistant to amoxicillin due to beta-lactamase production.
• Pharmacokinetics: well absorbed orally; primarily excreted by the kidneys.

Indications for use:

Augram is used to treat infections caused by susceptible microorganisms, including:
• Upper respiratory tract infections (tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis)
• Lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)
• Urinary tract infections
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Bone and joint infections
• Dental and periodontal infections.

Dosage and administration (for adults):

Usually, 1 tablet (1 g) twice daily, during or after meals.
