Orchazid 0.025% eye drops 10 ml
Composition:
Each 1 ml drop contains:
Ketotifen 0.25 mg,
Benzalkonium chloride 0.1 mg.
Characteristics:
Ketotifen belongs to the group of cycloheptathiophenones and has pronounced antihistamine activity.
It is not classified as a bronchodilating anti-asthmatic drug.
Its mechanism of action is associated with inhibition of histamine and other mediator release from mast cells, blocking histamine H1-receptors, and inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase, which leads to an increase in cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate) levels in mast cells.
Indications:
Prevention and treatment of acute, subacute, and chronic allergic conjunctivitis and keratoconjunctivitis, seasonal (spring) conjunctivitis, and ocular manifestations of hay fever.
In tablet form, it is used to prevent the development of bronchospasm, asthmatic attacks, and acute allergic reactions, as well as to reduce the dosage and/or discontinue hormonal drugs (glucocorticosteroids) and bronchodilators when used in combination.
