Composition:
Quetiapine 150 mg.
Product Description:
Atypical neuroleptic drugs.
Indications for Use:
Treatment of schizophrenia.
Treatment of bipolar disorder:
For the treatment of moderate to severe manic episodes in bipolar disorder.
For the treatment of major depressive episodes in bipolar disorder.
For the prevention of recurrence of manic or depressed episodes in patients with bipolar disorder who previously responded to Quitapex Fumarate treatment.
Quitapex is also used to associated treatment for these conditions:
Acute Depressive Episode, Bipolar 1 Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Mixed manic-depressive episode, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Psychosis, Schizophrenia, Acute Manic episode.
Method of Administration and Dosage:
Depending on the case to be prescribed by the specialist.
Contraindications:
Except under special circumstances, Quitapex should not be used when hypersensitivity to Quitapex exists.
Risk-benefit should be considered when the following medical problems exist:
Alzheimer's dementia:
Dysphagia associated with use of antipsychotic medications may increase risk of aspiration pneumonia.
Possible increased risk of seizures because of lowered seizure threshold with Alzheimer's dementia.
Breast cancer, or history of.
Cardiovascular disease, including:
Conduction abnormalities or heart failure or myocardial infarction or ischemia, or history of.
Cerebrovascular disease.
Conditions that would predispose to hypotension, including:
Dehydration or hypovolemia.
Hepatic function impairment.
Seizures or history of:
Seizures occurred rarely in premarketing studies of Quitapex.
It is recommended that Quitapex be used with caution in patients with a history of seizures or a decreased seizure threshold.

Contraindications for use:
- Increased sensitivity to any of the components of the medication;
- Simultaneous use with CYP3A4 inhibitors, such as HIV protease inhibitors, azole antifungal drugs, erythromycin, clarithromycin, nefazodone;
- Children under 18 years of age;
- Breastfeeding period. Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases or other conditions predisposing to arterial hypotension; elderly patients; hepatic insufficiency; history of seizures; pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions (Side Effects):
Common Quitapex side effects may include:
- trouble with movement;
- dizziness, weakness;
- increased appetite, weight gain;
- sore throat;
- dry mouth; or nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, constipation.

Pregnancy and Lactation:
Should not be used in pregnant or breastfeeding women unless necessary, and the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor.
