Quitapex 200 mg

This drug contains quetiapine, a second-generation antipsychotic. It is similar to drugs such as Seroquel and is used to treat schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression (as part of combination therapy) and other mental health conditions.

Composition:

- Quetiapine (as fumarate) - 200 mg per tablet.

Indications for use:

• Schizophrenia.
• ​​Bipolar affective disorder (BAD):
o Treatment of mania.
o Treatment of depression.
o Maintenance therapy.
• Depression (in combination with other antidepressants - off-label).
• Sometimes used for anxiety disorders or PTSD (off-label).

Method of administration and dosage:

• Take the tablet orally, do not chew, wash down with water.
• The dosage is selected by the doctor individually.
o Usually 200 mg is used as a maintenance or intermediate dose.
o Can be used 1 or 2 times a day.
o Daily therapeutic dose for schizophrenia or bipolar disorder: from 300 to 800 mg/day.
• The drug can be used as part of a multi-step regimen: first 50-100 mg, then 200 mg and higher.

Additionally:

• Sold strictly by prescription.
• Do not combine with alcohol, sleeping pills and sedatives without consulting a doctor.
• With long-term use - regular monitoring of:
o Weight, blood pressure, sugar and lipid levels, liver function.
• When discontinuing - gradually reduce the dose.
