Composition:

Product Description:
Femara contains letrozole, an aromatase inhibitor.
It is a hormonal (endocrine) therapy for breast cancer.
Letrozole reduces estrogen levels by blocking the aromatase enzyme, slowing or stopping the growth of estrogen‑dependent tumor cells.
Indications:
- Treatment of breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
- Prevention of breast cancer recurrence.
- First‑line therapy before surgery when immediate surgery is not suitable.
- Treatment after surgery or after a 5‑year course of tamoxifen.
- Prevention of tumor spread in advanced breast cancer.
Method of Administration and Dosage:
- Take strictly as prescribed by your doctor.
- Usual dose: 1 Femara tablet once daily.
- Take at the same time each day.
- Swallow the tablet whole with water.
- Treatment is long‑term — months or years, under regular medical supervision.
- In case of overdose — contact a doctor.
- If a dose is missed:
if the next dose is due in 2–3 hours — skip the missed dose;
otherwise take it as soon as remembered and continue the schedule;
do not double the dose. - Do not stop treatment unless instructed by your doctor.
Side Effects:
- Very common: hot flushes, increased cholesterol, fatigue, sweating, bone and joint pain.
- Common: skin rash, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, constipation, diarrhea, appetite changes, muscle pain, osteoporosis, swelling, depression, weight gain, hair loss, hypertension, abdominal pain, dry skin, vaginal bleeding, palpitations.
- Uncommon: weakness, paralysis, speech disturbances, sudden chest pain, vein inflammation, high fever, mouth ulcers, blurred vision, tendinitis.
- Rare: difficulty breathing, fainting, cyanosis, sudden limb pain (thrombosis), tendon rupture.
- Other: anxiety, irritability, memory problems, carpal tunnel syndrome, sensory disturbances, eye symptoms, itching, vaginal dryness, high temperature, dry mucous membranes, weight loss, urinary infections, cough, elevated enzymes, jaundice.
- Seek medical attention immediately if severe symptoms occur.
Contraindications:
- Allergy to letrozole or any excipient.
- Premenopausal status (menstruation still present).
- Pregnancy.
- Breastfeeding.
