Depakine 200 mg/ml Oral solution 40 ml

Composition (per 1 ml of solution):

• Sodium Valproate — 200 mg.

Pharmacological properties:

Depakine has an anticonvulsant effect by increasing the level of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain, the main inhibitory neurotransmitter.

• Suppresses excessive neuronal activity
• Effective for a wide range of seizure disorders
• Stabilizes mood in patients with bipolar disorder (off-label use).

Indications:

• Generalized and partial forms of epilepsy
• Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy
• Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

Dosage and administration:

• Taken orally during or after meals
• Dosage is individualized:
• Children: 20–30 mg/kg/day
• Adults: starting dose 600 mg/day, with gradual increase
• Daily dose is usually divided into 2–3 administrations
• Use the supplied dosing syringe with a pink plunger.
