Dramenex 50 mg 20 tablets
Composition:
Each tablet contains:
Dimenhydrinate 50 mg.
Excipients: lactose, starch, talc, magnesium stearate, and other technological components.
Product Description:
Antiemetic drug, H1-histamine receptor blocker.
Has sedative, central anticholinergic, local anesthetic effects.
Depresses the central nervous system, reduces the consequences of vestibular stimulation, acting mainly on the otolithic apparatus, and at high doses on the semicircular canals.
Indications for use:
Motion sickness (sea and air sickness) — treatment and prevention.
Meniere’s disease.
Vestibular and labyrinth disorders.
Method of administration and dosage:
- Adults: orally, before meals, 50–100 mg 2–3 times daily.
- Children 1–6 years: 12.5–25 mg 3 times daily.
- Children 7–12 years: 25–50 mg 3 times daily.
- For prevention of motion sickness: 50–100 mg 30 minutes before travel.
- Maximum daily dose for adults: 300–400 mg.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity.
- Children under 1 year.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Use with caution in: closed-angle and open-angle glaucoma, prostatic hyperplasia with clinical manifestations, urinary retention, bladder neck obstruction, bronchial asthma.
Precautions:
Antiemetic effect may mask symptoms of acute appendicitis or drug poisoning.
During treatment, avoid driving and engaging in potentially hazardous activities requiring concentration and quick psychomotor reactions.
Adverse reaction / Side effects:
- Nervous system: fatigue, weakness, reduced concentration, headache, dizziness, restlessness, nervousness, drowsiness, insomnia (especially in children), visual disturbances, accommodation disorders.
- Digestive system: dry mouth, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
- Respiratory system: dryness of nasal and throat mucosa, thickening of bronchial secretions.
- Cardiovascular system: hypotension, arrhythmia.
- Allergic reactions: urticaria, angioedema, bronchospasm.
- Other: difficulty urinating.
- Overdose: dryness of mucous membranes, facial flushing, slowed and difficult breathing, confusion.
- Treatment: gastric lavage, activated charcoal.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Storage conditions:
Store at temperatures not exceeding 25 °C.
