Composition:

Travoprost 40 mcg

Inactive ingredients:

macrogol glyceryl hydroxystearate, propylene glycol, boric acid, mannitol, sodium chloride, polidronium chloride, sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid

Properties:

Antiglaucoma agent.  Synthetic analogue of prostaglandin F2α.

It is a highly selective prostaglandin FP receptor agonist.  Reduces intraocular pressure by increasing the uveoscleral outflow of aqueous humor.

Intraocular pressure decreases approximately 2 hours after the use of the drug, the maximum effect is achieved after 12 hours.

Indications:

Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in open-angle glaucoma, increased ophthalmo tonus.

Dosage and administration:

The optimal dosage regimen is determined by the doctor.  Compliance of the used dosage form of a particular drug with indications for use and dosing regimen should be strictly observed.

Instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s) 1 time per day, preferably in the evening.

Contraindications:

-children and adolescents under 18 years of age;

-hypersensitivity to travoprost.

Warnings and precautions:

-Use with caution in the presence of risk factors for the development of macular edema (aphakia, pseudophakia, damage to the posterior lens capsule), with acute iritis, uveitis.

-Against the background of application, a gradual change in eye color is possible due to an increase in the amount of brown pigment in the iris.

-Travoprost may cause darkening, thickening and lengthening of the eyelashes and / or an increase in their number;  rarely – darkening of the skin of the eyelids.

-Can be used in combination with other topical antiglaucoma drugs.  In this case, the interval between their application should be at least 5 minutes.

-When wearing contact lenses before instillation, the lenses should be removed and reinstalled no earlier than 20 minutes after the procedure.

Side effects:

-Organs of vision: very often – transient mild hyperemia of the conjunctiva, passing on its own;  often – decreased visual acuity, discomfort and foreign body sensation, pain, itching, burning in the eyes, visual disturbances, blepharitis, “fog” before the eyes, cataracts, conjunctivitis, dryness of the conjunctiva, discoloration of the iris, keratitis, crusting on the edges of the eyelids,  photophobia, subconjunctival hemorrhage and increased lacrimation.

-Cardiovascular system: often – an increase or decrease in blood pressure, bradycardia, angina pectoris, chest pain, hypercholesterolemia.

-Central nervous system: often – general anxiety, headache, depression.

-Urinary system: often – urinary incontinence and infections of the urinary system.

-Musculoskeletal system: often – arthritis, back pain.

-Other: often – flu-like syndrome, sinusitis, bronchitis, dyspepsia.

Storage:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C, after opening store at a temperature not exceeding 20-25 degrees for no longer than 28 days.

Package:

The carton box contains 2.5 ml dropper bottles of 1 or 3 pieces, and a paper leaflet.
