Torseretic 100 mg 30 tablets

Composition:

Each tablet contains:
Torsemide 100 mg.
Excipients:
Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone K30, magnesium stearate, crospovidone XL, iron oxide red.

Description:

Torsemide is a loop diuretic with strong diuretic and antihypertensive effects.
It increases urinary excretion of fluid, reduces blood pressure, and decreases cardiac workload.
Its mechanism involves inhibition of sodium and water reabsorption in the kidneys.

Indications for Use:

Edema: heart failure, renal disease, hepatic disease.
Hypertension: Used to lower blood pressure and reduce risk of: stroke, myocardial infarction, cardiovascular complications.
May be used alone or with other antihypertensive agents.

Dosage and Administration:

For oral use once daily.
Edema due to Heart Failure: Initial dose: 10-20 mg/day. Dose may be increased as needed.
Edema due to Chronic Renal Failure: Initial dose: 20 mg/day. Dose may be increased if required.
Doses above 200 mg have not been studied.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to torsemide.
Anuria.
Hepatic coma.

Precautions:

Hypotension and Renal Function:
May cause dehydration, hypotension, and renal impairment.
Monitor renal function and fluid status.
Electrolyte Imbalance.
May cause: hypokalemia, hyponatremia, hyperglycemia, hyperuricemia.
Regular monitoring required.
Ototoxicity: May cause tinnitus or reversible hearing loss.
Lactose Warning: Not suitable for patients with lactose intolerance disorders.

Side Effects:

Most common:
Excessive urination.
Hypotension.
Dehydration.
Possible:
Electrolyte imbalance.
Hyperglycemia.
Hematologic disorders.
Skin reactions.
Stevens-Johnson syndrome.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:

No adequate data in pregnancy.
Diuretics may suppress lactation.
Not recommended during breastfeeding.

Storage Conditions:

Store below 30°C in a dry place.
Keep out of reach of children.
