Atenolol 100 mg

Chlortalidone 25 mg

Amiloride hydrochloride 5 mg

Auxiliary components:

Starch, povidone, magnesium stearate, talc, aerosil.

Properties:

Combined antihypertensive drug, has a long-term hypotensive effect. The effect is due to the action of three components: a beta1-blocker (atenolol) and two diuretics (chlorthalidone and

amiloride hydrochloride).

Atenolol is a cardioselective beta1-blocker. Selectivity decreases with increasing dose. Atenolol does not have intrinsic sympathomimetic and membrane stabilizing effects. Like other beta-blockers, it has a negative inotropic effect, slows down heart rate.

Chlorthalidone is a non-thiazide sulfanilamide diuretic that enhances the excretion of sodium and chlorine. Increases excretion of potassium, magnesium and bicarbonate. The mechanism of antihypertensive action is probably related to sodium excretion. The combination of atenolol with diuretics is more effective than the use of each of the components separately.

Amiloride hydrochloride is a potassium-sparing diuretic. It is a derivative of pyrosinoylguanidine. It acts mainly on the distal part of the renal tubules. Increases the excretion of sodium and chloride ions and reduces the excretion of potassium ions. Causes a less pronounced diuretic effect than thiazide diuretics. When combined with potassium-excreting diuretics, it reduces the risk of hypokalemia and hypomagnesemia.

The action of the drug Teclo persists for 24 hours after a single oral dose in a daily dose.

Indications:

Arterial hypertension.

Dosage and administration:

Take one or half a tablet orally in the morning.

Contraindications:

– severe bradycardia;

– cardiogenic shock;

– severe arterial hypotension;

– metabolic acidosis;

– severe disorders of peripheral circulation;

-AV-blockade II and III degree;

SSSU;

– untreated pheochromocytoma;

– acute heart failure;

– chronic heart failure;

– vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal’s angina);

-bronchial asthma;

-obstructive bronchitis;

-diabetes;

-hypoglycemia;

-gout;

– myasthenia gravis;

– acute hepatitis;

– acute renal failure;

-children and adolescents up to 18 years;

– Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Precautionary measures:

Be wary appoint patients with AV-blockade I degree.

It should be borne in mind that the use of the drug may mask the phenomena of thyrotoxicosis and hypoglycemia.

With the development against the background of the use of the drug bradycardia (heart rate up to 50 bpm) with clinical symptoms, the dose should be reduced or the drug should be discontinued.

Teclo should not be abruptly discontinued in patients with CAD.

Smokers may experience a decrease in the therapeutic effect of the drug.

Side effects:

Since the cardiovascular system: bradycardia, increased symptoms of heart failure.

From the side of the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system: confusion, dizziness, headache.

From the hemopoietic system: leukopenia, purpura, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, eosinophilia.

Dermatological reactions: alopecia, dry eyes, psoriasis-like reactions, exacerbation of psoriasis, skin rash, photosensitivity.

From the respiratory system: bronchospasm (in patients with bronchial asthma or with a history of bronchospasm).

On the part of laboratory parameters: hyperuricemia, hyponatremia (associated with taking chlorthalidone), hypokalemia.

The drug is usually well tolerated. Side effects are rare, mild and transient.
