Pantopi 40 mg 14 tablets
Composition:
Pantoprazole 40 mg per tablet.
Product description:
Pantoprazole (Pantopi 40 mg) is a medicine that lowers the amount of acid your stomach makes.
By reducing stomach acid, it helps ease pain, burning, and swelling caused by acid-related problems.
It is commonly used for: Indigestion (dyspepsia) and acid reflux (GERD), stomach and duodenal ulcers, treatment of H. pylori infection (together with other medicines), preventing ulcers in people who take painkillers like NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, diclofenac).
Indications for use:
Pantoprazole helps relieve heartburn, acid reflux, and stomach pain.
It reduces inflammation and swelling in the stomach and esophagus, treats and prevents ulcers, supports therapy for H. pylori infection, and protects the stomach from damage caused by long-term use of NSAIDs.
Method of administration and dosage:
Oral use.
Typical adult dosing: 20-40 mg once daily, often for 4-8 weeks, with longer durations based on clinical response; dosing individualized by the physician.
Take before meals (commonly before breakfast) to optimize effect; clinicians often advise administration relative to meals to reduce irritation and improve efficacy.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to pantoprazole or any PPI; caution in patients with a history of severe hepatic impairment or conditions where masking symptoms may delay diagnosis (e.g., gastric malignancy).
Precautions:
Use with caution in long-term therapy due to potential risks such as vitamin B12 deficiency, hypomagnesemia, and increased risk of infections (class considerations for PPIs); dose and duration should follow physician guidance.
Evaluate patients with alarm symptoms (unintended weight loss, recurrent vomiting, GI bleeding) before initiating prolonged treatment.
Adverse reactions (side effects):
Common: headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea.
Less common but important: hypomagnesemia, rash, dizziness;
Very rare: C. difficile–associated diarrhea and interstitial nephritis (class effects reported across PPIs; medical summaries for pantoprazole reflect these).
Pregnancy and lactation:
Use only if clearly needed and as directed by a physician; risk–benefit assessment is required during pregnancy and breastfeeding according to standard PPI guidance.
Storage conditions:
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture.
Keep out of reach of children.
Packaging:
Carton box containing 14 enteric-coated tablets (40 mg each).
