Composition:

Each capsule contains:
Omeprazole 40 mg.
Excipients: lactose, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, and capsule shell components.

Product Description:

Omez is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that blocks gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in stomach lining cells.
It is widely prescribed for acid-related disorders and ulcer healing.

Indications for Use:

• Gastric ulcer.
  
• Duodenal ulcer.
  
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
  
• Erosive esophagitis.
  
• Zollinger–Ellison syndrome.
  
• Helicobacter pylori-associated ulcers (in combination therapy).

Method of Administration and Dosage:

• Adults: GERD/erosive esophagitis: 20–40 mg once daily for 4–8 weeks.
  
• Gastric ulcer: 40 mg once daily for 4–8 weeks.
  
• Duodenal ulcer: 20 mg once daily for 2–4 weeks.
  
• Zollinger–Ellison syndrome: 60 mg daily, adjusted individually.
  
• Children (≥1 year, ≥10 kg): 10–20 mg daily depending on weight and indication.
  
• Capsules should be swallowed whole, 30 minutes before meals.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to omeprazole or other PPIs.
Concomitant use with HIV drugs containing rilpivirine.

Precautions:

Long-term use may increase risk of bone fractures, vitamin B12 deficiency, and hypomagnesemia.
Monitor liver function in patients with hepatic impairment.
Use with caution in pregnancy and breastfeeding (only if clearly needed).

Adverse Reactions:

Common: headache, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation.
Less common: dizziness, rash, liver enzyme elevations.
Rare: severe allergic reactions, lupus-like syndrome, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea.

Pregnancy and Lactation:

Generally considered safe under medical supervision; avoid prolonged use unless necessary.

Storage Conditions:

Store below 25°C, protected from moisture and light.
