Composition:
Moxifloxacin 400 mg
(3rd generation fluoroquinolones).
Description:
Fluoroquinolones should be reserved for use in patients who have no other treatment options for acute bacterial sinusitis, (ABS) and acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis (ABECB).
Important Note:
To reduce the development of drug-resistant bacteria and maintain the effectiveness of
Moxavidex and other antibacterial drugs, Moxifloxacin hydrochloride should be used only to treat or prevent infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria. When culture and susceptibility information are available, they should be considered in selecting or modifying antibacterial therapy. In the absence of such data, local epidemiology and susceptibility patterns may contribute to the empiric selection of therapy.

Properties:
Covers (G +ve, G -ve bacteria), and it is the most active fluoroquinolones against anaerobes.
Recommended by “Infectious Diseases Society of America” guidelines in skin and skin structure, intra-abdominal and diabetic foot infections.
Respectively as initial empirical monotherapy.
Recommended by “The Japanese Society of Gastroenterology” in treatment of H.pylori (evidence level A).
Сontraindications:
Fluoroquinolones should not be used in the following indications:
To treat infections that might get better without treatment or are not severe (such as throat infections);
To treat non-bacterial infections, e.g. non-bacterial (chronic) prostatitis;
For preventing traveler’s diarrhoea or recurring lower urinary tract infections (urine infections that do not extend beyond the bladder);
To treat mild or moderate bacterial infections unless other antibacterial medicines commonly recommended for these infections cannot be used.
Dosage:
The dose of Moxavidex tablets is 400 mg (orally) once every 24 hours. The duration of therapy depends on the type of infection. (see instruction inside the box)

Store at temperature not exceeding 30 ̊C in a dry place.
