Composition:

Each tablet contains:

Amiloride hydrochloride 5 mg

Hydrochlorothiazide 50 mg

Properties :

It has a hypotensive and diuretic effect. Removes sodium and retains potassium in the blood plasma. The diuretic effect begins two hours after taking the drug. The maximum effect is noted after 4 hours and lasts for 6-12 hours. At the initial normal arterial pressure, its decrease is not observed.

Indications:

As a diuretic for hypertension (persistent high blood pressure) and heart failure. Used mainly in combination with other diuretics (hypothiazid, etc.). Amiloride enhances their diuretic effect and reduces the risk of hypokalemia (decrease in the level of potassium in the blood).

Dosage and administration:

1-2 tablets 1-2 times a day.

Contraindications:

Hyperkalemia (increased potassium content in the blood), impaired renal function, hypersensitivity to the drug.

Warnings and precautions:

Use in pregnant women is indicated only in cases where the expected benefit outweighs the possible negative impact on the fetus.

The hypokalemic effect is enhanced by corticosteroids; moduretic enhances the toxicity of cardiac glycosides, weakens the effect of antidiabetic agents. It should not be administered simultaneously with potassium-sparing and potassium-containing drugs.

Side effects:

In some cases, nausea, vomiting, headache, lowering blood pressure are possible. In these cases, it is recommended to take the drug not daily, but every other day and in smaller doses.
