Сomposition:

• Active ingredient:

Digoxin 0.25 mg.

Lanoxin is a cardiac glycoside used to treat chronic heart failure and various heart rhythm disorders. The drug improves heart function by increasing the force of myocardial contractions and normalizing heart rate. 

Pharmacological properties:

• Increases the strength and efficiency of heart contractions.
• Slows heart rate (negative chronotropic effect).
• Improves blood circulation and reduces symptoms of heart failure.
• Increases left ventricular ejection fraction.

Indications for use:

• Chronic heart failure.
• Atrial fibrillation and flutter.
• Other supraventricular tachyarrhythmias.

Method of administration and dosage:

For adults:

• Initial loading dose: usually 0.75 – 1.25 mg over 24 hours, divided into 2–3 doses.
• Maintenance dose: 0.125–0.25 mg once daily, depending on creatinine clearance, age, and body weight.

For elderly patients or those with renal insufficiency:

• The dose is selected individually, usually lower than the standard.
• Monitoring of digoxin blood levels is required.
• Dosage is adjusted individually based on kidney function, age, and body weight.
• It is recommended to monitor digoxin levels in the blood.
