Composition:
Each capsule contains:
Cefadroxil monohydrate (equivalent to cefadroxil) - 500 mg.
Pharmacological properties:
Cefadroxil is a beta-lactam antibiotic with a bactericidal effect:
1. Mechanism of action:
Disrupts the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, which leads to their death
Effective against streptococci, staphylococci, E. coli, Klebsiella, Proteus mirabilis, etc.
2. Pharmacokinetics:
Well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract
Maintains an active concentration in the blood for a long time (up to 12 hours)
Excreted mainly by the kidneys.
Indications for use:
Upper respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis)
Urinary tract infections (cystitis, urethritis)
Skin and soft tissue infections
Prevention of rheumatism in streptococcal pharyngitis (in case of penicillin intolerance).
Method of administration and dosage:
Adults: 500 mg 2 times a day (every 12 hours)
For severe infections - up to 1 g 2 times a day
Duration of treatment: 7-10 days
The tablet should be washed down with water, can be taken regardless of food
Note: the dosage may be adjusted by the doctor depending on age, severity of the infection and kidney function.
