Composition:

Each tablet contains:
Perindopril arginine 5 mg.
Amlodipine 10 mg.

Product Description:

Coveram is a combined antihypertensive and antianginal agent containing perindopril arginine (an ACE inhibitor) and amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker).
Amlodipine inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into cardiomyocytes and vascular smooth muscle cells.
Perindopril blocks the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, reducing vasoconstriction and enhancing vasodilation.

Indications for Use:

Arterial hypertension.
Ischemic heart disease (stable exertional angina).
Patients requiring therapy with both perindopril and amlodipine.

Method of Administration and Dosage:

Oral, once daily.
The optimal dosing regimen is determined by the physician.

Contraindications:

  • Amlodipine:
    Severe arterial hypotension (systolic BP < 90 mmHg).
    Shock (including cardiogenic).
    Obstruction of the left ventricular outflow tract.
    Hemodynamically unstable heart failure after myocardial infarction.
    Age under 18 years.
    Hypersensitivity to amlodipine or other dihydropyridine derivatives.
  • Perindopril:
    History of angioedema.
    Hereditary/idiopathic angioedema.
    Concomitant use of aliskiren in patients with diabetes or renal impairment (eGFR < 60 ml/min/1.73 m²).
    Pregnancy.
    Age under 18 years.
    Hypersensitivity to ACE inhibitors.

Precautions:

  • Use with caution in:
    Renal artery stenosis, renal insufficiency, hepatic insufficiency.
    Systemic connective tissue diseases.
    Concomitant use of immunosuppressants, allopurinol, procainamide.
    Reduced circulating blood volume (diuretics, low‑salt diet, vomiting, diarrhea).
    Atherosclerosis, cerebrovascular disease, diabetes, chronic heart failure.
    Concomitant use of potassium‑sparing diuretics, potassium preparations, lithium, cyclosporine, tacrolimus, CYP3A4 inhibitors.
    Surgery/anesthesia, desensitization therapy.
    Patients of African descent, elderly patients.

Adverse Effects:

  • Nervous system: drowsiness, dizziness, headache, paresthesia.
  • Sensory organs: visual disturbances, diplopia, tinnitus.
  • Cardiovascular system: palpitations, flushing, marked decrease in blood pressure.
  • Respiratory system: dyspnea, cough.

Pregnancy and Lactation:

Contraindicated.

Storage Conditions:

Store at temperatures not exceeding 30 °C.
Protect from moisture and direct sunlight.
Keep out of reach of children.
