Composition:

Fluticasone propionate — 100 mcg (per dose).

Product Description:

Fluticasone propionate belongs to the group of locally acting glucocorticosteroids.
When administered by inhalation in recommended doses, it exerts pronounced anti‑inflammatory and anti‑allergic effects, reducing symptom severity and the frequency of exacerbations in diseases associated with airway obstruction (bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema).

Indications for Use:

Basic anti‑inflammatory therapy of bronchial asthma in adults and children from 1 year of age (including patients with severe disease dependent on systemic corticosteroids).
Treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults as an adjunct to long‑acting bronchodilator therapy (e.g., LABAs).

Method of Administration and Dosage:

  • The therapeutic effect develops within 4–7 days after initiation of treatment; in patients not previously using inhaled corticosteroids, improvement may be noted within 24 hours.
  • Adults and adolescents over 16 years: 100–1000 mcg twice daily.
  • Initial dose depends on disease severity:
    Mild asthma — 100–250 mcg twice daily.
    Moderate asthma — 250–500 mcg twice daily.
    Severe asthma — 500–1000 mcg twice daily.
  • The dose may be adjusted depending on the patient’s individual response, either reduced to the minimum effective dose or increased to achieve control.

Contraindications:

  • Hypersensitivity to any component of the product.
  • Acute bronchospasm.
  • Status asthmaticus (as first‑line therapy).
  • Children under 1 year of age.

Precautions:

  • Treatment should not be discontinued abruptly.
  • Use with caution in patients with liver cirrhosis, glaucoma, hypothyroidism, systemic infections (bacterial, fungal, parasitic, viral), osteoporosis, pulmonary tuberculosis, pregnancy, and lactation.
  • Special caution is required in patients with active or latent pulmonary tuberculosis.

Adverse Reactions / Side Effects:

  • Infectious diseases: oral and pharyngeal candidiasis (very common).
    Rinsing the mouth and throat with water after inhalation is recommended.
  • Immune system: hypersensitivity skin reactions (uncommon).
  • Endocrine system: Cushing’s syndrome, Cushingoid features, adrenal suppression, growth retardation, decreased bone mineralization, cataract, glaucoma (very rare).
  • Metabolism: hyperglycemia (very rare).
  • Psychiatric: anxiety, sleep and behavioral disturbances, including hyperactivity and irritability (very rare, mainly in children).

Pregnancy and Lactation:

Use with caution; the physician should weigh risks and benefits.

Storage Conditions:

Store in a dry place at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
