Composition:

Each tablet contains:

Isosorbide dinitrate 5 mg

Properties:

Isosorbide dinitrate is one of the main antianginal agents from the group of organic nitrates. Peripheral vasodilator, affecting mainly venous vessels. In addition to the direct coronary action, it reduces the work of the heart by reducing pre- and afterload, and reduces myocardial oxygen demand. The use of isosorbide dinitrate improves coronary perfusion without the development of a symptom of steal. It has an antihypertensive effect. It is also used as a peripheral vasodilator in severe forms of heart failure: due to a decrease in the tone of peripheral venous vessels, it reduces the load on the heart, pressure in the vessels of the small circle, shortness of breath, and suffocation.

Indications:

Relief and prevention of angina attacks, including postinfarction; pulmonary hypertension, treatment of chronic congestive heart failure in combination with cardiac glycosides and diuretics.

Dosage and administration:

Sublingually for the relief of angina attacks – 2-4 tablets every 4-6 hours.

Contraindications:

Stroke, increased intracranial pressure, severe arterial hypotension, collapse, angle-closure glaucoma, cardiac tamponade, constrictive pericarditis, severe anemia, severe liver and kidney dysfunction, hypersensitivity to nitrates.

Warnings and precautions:

To prevent hypotension and nitrate headache, treatment should be initiated at the lowest recommended dose.

Side effects:

Possible headache, dizziness, nausea, hyperemia of the skin, drowsiness, orthostatic hypotension, reflex tachycardia, rarely – bradycardia, collapse, increased angina pectoris (with a sharp decrease in blood pressure).

Storage:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
