Cidamex 250 mg 20 tablets
Composition:
Acetazolamide — 250 mg.
Pharmacological properties:
Acetazolamide is an inhibitor of the enzyme carbonic anhydrase, which has the following effects:
1. Diuretic effect
Increases the excretion of sodium, potassium and water
Used for edema of various origins
2. Antiglaucoma effect
Reduces intraocular pressure
Effective for open-angle and closed-angle glaucoma
3. Anticonvulsant effect
Used for some forms of epilepsy, especially for minor seizures
4. Prevention of mountain sickness
Accelerates acclimatization when ascending to altitude
Prevents headache, nausea and shortness of breath.
Indications for use:
Glaucoma (including acute attacks)
Convulsive disorders (as part of complex therapy)
Edema conditions (including of cardiac origin)
Prevention of mountain sickness.
Method of administration and dosage:
The dose is selected individually depending on the indications.
Dosage of acetazolamide for glaucoma:
Adults: 250 mg, 1-4 times a day.
Children aged 12-18 years: 15-30 mg/kg/day, divided into doses every 6-8 hours. The total daily dose should not exceed 1 gram.
Dosage of acetazolamide for fluid retention:
Adults: The initial dose is 250-375 mg, taken in the morning daily.
Dosage of acetazolamide for patients with epilepsy:
Adults: 250-1000 mg per day.
Children: 8-30 mg/kg/day, not more than 1 gram.
Tablets are taken orally, washed down with a sufficient amount of water.
