Composition:

Amlodipine 10 mg

Valsartan 160 mg

Properties:

Avivavasc Tablets contain two active ingredients, amlodipine and valsartan. Both substances work together to control and control high blood pressure. Amlodipine belongs to a class called calcium channel blockers. This active substance works by inhibiting the entry of calcium ions. Valsartan, which belongs to a class called angiotensin 11 receptor antagonists, as the body produces angiotensin and thus leads to narrowing of blood vessels and this leads to high blood pressure and thus the substance works Effective valsartan blocks the effect of angiotensin, and this means that both active substances work to treat narrowed blood vessels.

Indications:

1-Avivavasc tablets are used to treat high blood pressure.

2- The two active substances in the medicine are used to treat narrowed blood vessels as it relaxes them.

3- The drug can be used with patients who are not able to control their blood pressure adequately through treatment with one of the active substances.

Dosage and administration:

Dosage

The usual dose is one tablet per day. It is considered best to take the medicine at the same time every day. The tablet should be swallowed whole with a drink of water. There is no specific requirement about taking the medicine with or without food, but it is very important to note that it is not possible to take the tablets of Avivasc. With grapefruit or grapefruit juice.

If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember, but if the next dose is close, skip the previous dose and take the next dose as usual.

Side effects:

1 Allergic reactions such as: 

 – Skin rash 

 – Itching 

 – Swelling in the Face, lips or tongue 

 – Difficulty breathing 

 – Low blood pressure     

 – Dizziness.

2 It is possible to have the flu, a stuffy nose, or a sore throat.

3 Mouth pain during the swallowing process in addition to feeling a headache.

4 Swelling in both arms, hands and legs, in addition to the ankles or feet.

5 Feeling tired or red and hot in the face in addition to the neck area.

6 Feeling dizzy or nauseated, in addition to feeling pain in the abdominal area, and this is one of the rare side effects.

7 The desire to sleep (drowsiness) in addition to dry mouth.

8 Feeling of numbness or tingling in the foot or hand area.

9 Persistent cough.

10 Diarrhea or constipation.

11 Feeling pain in the back area.

12 One of the side effects is also feeling anxious or having a ringing in the ears.

13 It is possible that the use of the drug may lead to fainting.

14 Feeling the urge to urinate periodically.

Contraindications:

1 An allergy to the active substances or any of the components of the drug.

2 In the case of major problems in the liver as well as the gallbladder, such as cirrhosis of the liver or patients with biliary obstruction.

3 It is forbidden to use the drug in case of pregnancy.

4 Do not use the drug in case of low blood pressure.

5 It is forbidden to use it for patients who suffer from narrowing of the aortic valve or who suffer from cardiogenic shock, because in this case the heart is unable to supply the body with a sufficient amount of blood.

6 It is forbidden to use it for those who suffer from heart failure.

7 It is forbidden to use it for those who suffer from diabetes or any defect in kidney function.

8 It is forbidden to use it with other medicines that lower blood pressure and contain aliskiren.

Warnings and precautions:

-Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment. 

-Avoid salt substitutes which contain potassium. 

-Should not be used by patients suffering from hypersensitivity to amlodipine or  valsartan. 

-Valsartan may cause hyperkalemia. -Symptomatic hypotension may occur upon initiation in patients who are salt- or volume-depleted. 

-The most common side effect of amlodipine is peripheral edema; it occurs within 2-3 weeks of starting therapy. -Valsartan may be associated with deterioration of renal function and/or increases in serum creatinine, particularly in patients with low renal blood flow (eg, renal artery stenosis, heart failure). 

-Use amlodipine with extreme caution in patients with severe aortic stenosis. 

-Use amlodipine with caution in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). -Use valsartan with caution in patients with unstented unilateral/bilateral renal artery stenosis. 

-Consider the use of a lower initial dose of amlodipine in elderly patients. 

-In case of overdose seek immediate medical help.

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C away from moisture and direct sunlight.
