Compound:

Each p/o tablet contains:

Atorvastatin – 10 mg.

Auxiliary components: PVP K30, microcrystalline cellulose PH 102, magnesium stearate, anhydrous citric acid, colloidal silicon dioxide, butylated hydroxyanisole, talc, croscarmellose sodium, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, polyethylene glycol 6000.

Properties:

Atorvastatin is a third-generation lipid-lowering drug from the statin group. Reduces the level of “bad” cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, while increasing the level of “good” cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein or HDL).

Indications:

treating high cholesterol and reducing the risk of stroke, heart attack, or other heart complications in people with type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, or other risk factors.

Mode of application:

atorvastatin can be administered once at any time of the day, regardless of food intake, before using atorvastatin, a standard cholesterol-lowering diet should be followed.

Hypercholesterolemia: The recommended starting dose is 10 or 20 mg once daily. Patients who require a significant reduction in LDL-C (more than 45%) may start with 40 mg 1 time per day. The dose range for atorvastatin is 10 to 80 mg once daily. The doctor adjusts the dosage according to the individual indicators of the patient. After starting atorvastatin, lipid levels should be analyzed within 2-4 weeks. In heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia in patients (10–17 years of age), the recommended starting dose of atorvastatin is 10 mg/day; maximum – 20 mg / day. Doses should be individualized, with adjustments made at intervals of 4 weeks or more. Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia: The dose is 10 to 80 mg per day. Atorvastatin should be used as an adjunct to other lipid-lowering treatments in patients or if such treatment is not available.

Contraindications:

Precautionary measures:

Side effects:

Side effects are mild, transient, rare and include: constipation, flatulence, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, headache, nausea, myalgia, diarrhea, insomnia, angioedema, muscle cramps, myopathy, peripheral neuropathy, pancreatitis, anorexia, vomiting, alopecia , itching, rash, impotence, hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia.
