Atacand plus
Atacand plus
Structure:
Each tablet contains:
Candesartan cilexetil – 16mg.
Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg
Auxiliary components: calcium carmellose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, iron oxide (E 172), yellow iron oxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, corn starch, macrogol.
Properties:
combined antihypertensive drug. Candesartan and hydrochlorothiazide have a cumulative hypotensive effect. In patients with arterial hypertension, Atacand Plus causes an effective and long-term decrease in blood pressure without an increase in heart rate. After a single dose, the hypotensive effect develops within 2 hours. The use of the drug 1 time / day effectively and gently lowers blood pressure within 24 hours with a slight difference between the maximum and average effect of the action.
Indications:
Arterial hypertension in patients for whom combination therapy is indicated.
Mode of application:
Atacand Plus should be taken 1 tablet 1 time / day, regardless of food intake. The main hypotensive effect is achieved in the first 4 weeks after the start of treatment. Before starting therapy with Atacand Plus in patients with mild or moderate renal impairment, including patients on hemodialysis, a dose of candesartan (through Atacand monotherapy) is recommended, starting with 4 mg. For patients at risk of arterial hypotension, a dose of candesartan (through Atacand monotherapy) is recommended, starting at 4 mg. Elderly patients do not need dose adjustment.
Contraindications:
hypersensitivity to any component in the composition, children under 18 years of age; pregnancy and lactation; severe kidney and liver disorders, cholestasis, hypokalemia, hypercalcemia.
Precautions:
treatment of patients with renal insufficiency should be carried out under regular monitoring of the level of potassium, uric acid and creatinine. If surgery and the use of anesthetics are planned, the risk of hypotension should be considered. With extreme caution, hydrochlorothiazide is used for progressive diseases and functional disorders of the liver – it can lead to the development of hepatic coma. Hydrochlorothiazide increases the excretion of magnesium; can reduce the excretion of calcium ions in the urine, increase their concentration in the blood plasma, and cause disturbances in the water-salt balance. Simultaneous use of Atacand Plus can compensate for the loss of potassium by taking food supplements containing potassium. With diabetes mellitus, it may be necessary to adjust the dosing regimen of hypoglycemic agents / insulin. Hydrochlorothiazide may contribute to gout. In patients with cerebrovascular diseases of ischemic origin and ischemic cardiopathy, a sharp decrease in blood pressure while taking any antihypertensive drug can lead to the development of stroke or myocardial infarction.
