Composition: 

Each tablet contains:
Lacosamide 100 mg (active ingredient). 

Product Description: 

Lacovimp is an antiepileptic drug belonging to the functional class of anticonvulsants.
Its mechanism involves selective enhancement of slow inactivation of voltage-gated sodium channels, leading to stabilization of hyperexcitable neuronal membranes and inhibition of repetitive neuronal firing.

Indications for Use:

Adjunctive or monotherapy for partial-onset seizures in adults and children ≥ 4 years.
May be used in generalized tonic-clonic seizures in combination therapy.

Method of Administration and Dosage:

  • Oral administration.
  • Adults and children ≥ 17 years: start with 50 mg twice daily, titrate weekly by 50 mg increments to a maintenance dose of 200–400 mg/day depending on response and tolerability.
  • Paediatric patients (≥ 4 years): dosing adjusted by weight.
  • Tablets should be swallowed whole with water, with or without food, at consistent times daily.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to lacosamide or excipients.
Severe cardiac conduction disorders (e.g., AV block).
Not recommended in severe hepatic impairment.

Precautions:

Use with caution in patients with cardiac disease, hepatic or renal impairment, psychiatric disorders, or history of substance abuse.
Monitor ECG in patients with conduction abnormalities.
Dose adjustment required in mild/moderate hepatic impairment (max 300 mg/day).

Adverse Effects:

Common: dizziness, headache, nausea, diplopia, somnolence.
Uncommon: palpitations, tremor, blurred vision, vomiting.
Rare: suicidal ideation, arrhythmias.

Pregnancy and Lactation:

Use only if potential benefit outweighs risk.
Limited human data; animal studies show reproductive toxicity.
Excretion in breast milk unknown — caution advised.

Store below 30 °C, in a dry place, protected from light.
Keep out of reach of children.
