Predsol Forte 15mg/5ml syrup 60 ml

Compound:
Each 5 ml syrup contains:
Prednisolone 15 mg.
Properties:
Prednisolone is a synthetic glucocorticoid drug, a dehydrated analog of hydrocortisone.
It has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, immunosuppressive, anti-shock effects, increases the sensitivity of β-adrenergic receptors to endogenous catecholamines.
Interacts with specific cytoplasmic receptors (glucocorticoid receptors (GCS) are found in all tissues, especially in the liver) to form a complex that induces the formation of proteins (including enzymes that regulate vital processes in cells).
The anti-inflammatory effect is associated with inhibition of the release of inflammatory mediators by eosinophils and mast cells; inducing the formation of lipocortins and reducing the number of mast cells that produce hyaluronic acid; with a decrease in capillary permeability; stabilization of cell membranes (especially lysosomal) and organelle membranes.
It acts on all stages of the inflammatory process: it inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins (Pg) at the level of arachidonic acid (lipocortin inhibits phospholipase A2, inhibits the release of arachidonic acid and inhibits the biosynthesis of endoperoxides, leukotrienes that promote inflammation, allergies, etc.), the synthesis of “pro-inflammatory cytokines” (in including interleukin 1, TNFα); increases the resistance of the cell membrane to the action of various damaging factors.
Indications:
- Shock conditions (burn, traumatic, surgical, toxic, cardiogenic)
- With the ineffectiveness of vasoconstrictors, plasma-substituting drugs and other symptomatic therapy
- Allergic reactions (acute severe forms), hemotransfusion shock, anaphylactic shock, anaphylactoid reactions
- Cerebral edema (including against the background of a brain tumor or associated with surgery, radiation therapy or head trauma)
- Bronchial asthma (severe form), status asthmaticus
- Systemic connective tissue diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis)
- Acute adrenal insufficiency
- Thyrotoxic crisis
- Acute hepatitis, hepatic coma
- Reduction of inflammatory phenomena and prevention of cicatricial narrowing (in case of poisoning with caustic fluids).
Dosage and administration:
The dose and duration of treatment is selected by the doctor on an individual basis, depending on the indications and severity of the disease.
The selection of the dose and duration of treatment is determined depending on the individual response to therapy.
It is recommended to take the entire daily dose of the drug once or twice a daily dose - every other day, taking into account the circadian rhythm of endogenous GCS secretion in the range from 6 to 8 in the morning.
The daily dose of Prednisolone should be taken after meals (breakfast).
A high daily dose can be divided into 2-4 doses, while in the morning you should take a large dose.
Adults:
Take 5-60 mg per day once or divide into 3-4 doses.
Children:
Take 0.14-2 mg/kg/day, taken once or divided into 3-4 doses.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to prednisolone or to any of the excipients;
- Systemic mycosis;
- Simultaneous use of live and attenuated vaccines with immunosuppressive doses of the drug;
- Eye infection caused by the herpes simplex virus (due to the risk of corneal perforation);
- Period of breastfeeding; children’s age up to 3 years.
The use of the drug in patients with acute or subacute myocardial infarction is not recommended due to the risk of spreading the focus of necrosis, slowing down the formation of scar tissue, and, as a result, rupture of the heart muscle.
- Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum;
- Esophagitis, gastritis;
- Acute or latent peptic ulcer.
Precautionary measures:
The lowest dose of prednisolone should be used, providing a sufficient therapeutic effect, if necessary, dose reduction should be carried out gradually.
Patients receiving drugs that suppress the immune system are more susceptible to infections.
For example, chickenpox and measles can be more severe, even fatal, in unimmunized children or adults receiving prednisolone.
Side effects:
From the immune system: skin rash, itching, anaphylactic shock.
On the part of the endocrine system: decreased glucose tolerance, “steroidal” diabetes mellitus or manifestation of latent diabetes mellitus, suppression of adrenal function.
From the side of metabolism and nutrition: increased excretion of calcium ions, hypocalcemia, weight gain.
Storage method:
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees.
Package:
Carton box containing bottle 60 ml with tamper-evident cap, measuring cup, and leaflet.
