Composition:

Cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride 5 mg.
Excipients (tablet base).

Description of the Product:

Centrally acting muscle relaxant that eliminates local skeletal muscle spasms without directly interfering with their function.
The drug reduces muscle hyperactivity, acting mainly at the level of the brainstem and secondarily at the spinal cord.
It has sedative and anticholinergic effects similar to tricyclic antidepressants.

Indications for Use:

Muscle spasms accompanied by acute pain in the musculoskeletal system.
As an adjunct to limited physical activity and physiotherapy.
Relief of muscle spasms and associated signs and symptoms such as pain, tenderness, and restricted movement.

Method of Administration and Dosage:

Usually taken at 5–10 mg three times daily.
Maximum daily dose is 60 mg.
Tablets are taken orally with water.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.
• Concomitant use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days after discontinuation.
• Acute phase of myocardial infarction.
• Arrhythmias, conduction block, conduction disorders, or congestive heart failure.
• Hyperthyroidism.

Precautions:

• Cyclobenzaprine is structurally related to tricyclic antidepressants (amitriptyline, imipramine).
• Reports indicate tricyclic antidepressants may cause arrhythmias, sinus tachycardia, prolonged conduction time, leading to myocardial infarction and stroke.
• Multi‑Relax may potentiate the effects of alcohol, barbiturates, and other CNS depressants.
• If clinically significant CNS symptoms develop, discontinuation of therapy should be considered.

Side Effects:

 Most common (≥ 3%):

• Drowsiness.
• Dizziness.
• Fatigue.
• Nausea.
• Constipation.
• Dyspepsia.

Less common (1–3%):

• Asthenia.
• Unpleasant taste.
• Blurred vision.
• Headache.
• Nervousness.
• Confusion.

Pregnancy and Lactation:

Use only if prescribed by a physician, with risk–benefit assessment.

Storage Conditions:

Store at temperatures not exceeding 30 °C.
Keep out of reach of children.
