Melocam 15 mg 30 tablets

Composition:

Each tablet contains:
Meloxicam 15 mg.
Excipients:
Microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, crospovidone XL, povidone K30, sodium citrate tribasic dihydrate, colloidal anhydrous silica, purified talc, magnesium stearate.

Description:

Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the oxicam class with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic properties.
It reduces pain, inflammation and joint stiffness in rheumatic diseases.

Indications for Use:

Short-term symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis exacerbations.
Long-term symptomatic treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
Long-term treatment of ankylosing spondylitis.

Dosage and Method of Administration:

For oral use.
Taken once daily during meals with water.
Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
Osteoarthritis Exacerbation: 7.5 mg daily. May be increased to 15 mg/day if needed.
Rheumatoid Arthritis / Ankylosing Spondylitis: 15 mg/day. Dose may be reduced to 7.5 mg/day.
Maximum daily dose: 15 mg.
Elderly: Recommended dose 7.5 mg/day.
Renal impairment: Severe renal failure on dialysis max 7.5 mg/day.
Hepatic impairment: No adjustment for mild-moderate impairment.
Children: Contraindicated under 16 years.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to meloxicam or NSAIDs.
Asthma or allergic reactions to NSAIDs.
Active GI ulcer or bleeding.
Severe hepatic, renal, or heart failure.
Third trimester of pregnancy.
Children under 16 years.

Precautions:

Use cautiously in patients with:
Gastrointestinal disorders.
Cardiovascular diseases.
Hypertension.
Renal or hepatic impairment.
Elderly patients.
May mask signs of infection.
May impair female fertility.

Side Effects:

Most common:
Dyspepsia.
Nausea.
Abdominal pain.
Diarrhoea.
Headache.
Dizziness.
Serious rare effects:
GI bleeding.
Severe skin reactions.
Cardiovascular events.
Renal failure.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:

Contraindicated in third trimester. 
Use only if necessary during early pregnancy.
Not recommended during breastfeeding.

Storage Conditions:

Store below 30°C in a dry place.
Keep out of reach of children.

Packaging:

Carton box with 3 blister strips 10 tablets each and leaflet.
