Indications:
treatment of severe hypertriglyceridemia with normal or low concentrations of high-density cholesterol (HDL); mixed hyperlipidemia, if the use of statins is contraindicated or if they are not tolerated; mixed hyperlipidemia in people at high risk of developing cardiovascular disease in addition to statin therapy when triglycerides and high-density cholesterol (HDL) are not adequately controlled.
The drug should be used as an adjunct to diet and other non-pharmacological treatments (eg, exercise, weight loss) when these are inadequate.
