Composition:
Each drop of solution contains:
50 mg of elemental iron.
Auxiliary components:
Sorbitol, sodium methylparaben, propyl paraben, ethanol, banana flavor, purified water.
Properties:
An antianemic agent containing iron. Iron is a trace element that is part of hemoglobin, myoglobin, and some enzymes. Reversibly binds oxygen, participates in a number of redox reactions, stimulates erythropoiesis.
Indications:
Treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia of various origins in adults and children; disorders of absorption of iron from the gastrointestinal tract.
Method of administration and dosage:
Take orally (1 drop corresponds to 2.5 mg)
Children under 1 year of age:
25-50 mg Iron deficiency in anemia;
15-25 mg Iron deficiency without anemia.
Children 1-12 years old:
50-100mg Iron deficiency with anemia;
25-50 mg Iron deficiency without anemia.
Over 12 years old and adults:
100-300mg Iron deficiency with anemia;
50-100 mg Iron deficiency without anemia.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity, impaired iron metabolism in the body, hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis, gastrointestinal dysfunctions that prevent the absorption of iron, tardive porphyria of the skin, chronic hemolysis, thalassemia, sideroblastic anemia (including lead intoxication), aplastic and hemolytic anemia other anemias not associated with iron deficiency.
Precautions:
Peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer, inflammatory bowel disease (enteritis, diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease), alcoholism (active or in remission), hepatitis, hepatic or renal failure, concomitant blood transfusion. Hepatic and / or renal failure increases the risk of iron accumulation.
Side effects:
Irritation, a feeling of heaviness in the epigastric region, cramps and pain in the abdomen. Nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence, constipation.
