Composition:
Each tablet contains:
Torsemide 20 mg
Excipients:
Microcrystalline cellulose, Cellactose, Povidone K30, Croscarmellose sodium, Magnesium stearate.
Description:
Examide is a loop diuretic used to treat edema of various origins.
It promotes excretion of sodium and water, helping reduce fluid retention and improve symptoms in heart failure.
Indications for Use:
Edema due to congestive heart failure.
Hepatic edema.
Renal edema.
Pulmonary edema.
Dosage and Method of Administration:
Adults:
Usual dose: 5 mg once daily.
If necessary, dose may be increased stepwise up to 20 mg once daily.
In some cases, doses up to 40 mg daily may be used.
Contraindications:
Renal failure with anuria.
Hepatic coma or pre-coma.
Hypotension.
Hypovolemia.
Pregnancy and lactation.
Hypersensitivity to torsemide or sulfonylureas.
Cardiac arrhythmias.
Concomitant therapy with aminoglycosides or cephalosporins.
Drug-induced renal impairment.
Precautions:
Correct electrolyte imbalance before treatment.
Monitor during long-term therapy:
Electrolytes, Glucose, Uric acid, Creatinine, Lipids.
Use caution in patients with:
Diabetes.
Hyperuricemia or gout.
Prostatic hypertrophy.
Urinary retention risk.
Avoid driving if dizziness occurs.
Side Effects:
Common:
Headache.
Dizziness.
Muscle cramps.
Fatigue.
Gastrointestinal disturbances.
Possible:
Electrolyte imbalance.
Hypotension.
Increased glucose and uric acid.
Allergic skin reactions.
Blood disorders.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:
Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Storage Conditions:
Store below 30°C in a dry place.
