Dispercam Gel 0.5% 30 g

Composition:

Each gram of gel contains Piroxicam 5 mg.

Description:

Dispercam® Gel is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for topical use. It provides effective pain relief and reduces inflammation and stiffness in various musculoskeletal conditions.

Indications for Use:

Dispercam® Gel is indicated for the treatment of conditions associated with pain, inflammation, or stiffness, including:

Osteoarthritis of superficial joints (e.g., knee)

Acute musculoskeletal injuries

Periarthritis

Epicondylitis

Tendinitis

Tenosynovitis.

Directions for Use:

For external use only.

Apply approximately 1 g of gel (about 3 cm strip) to the affected area 3 to 4 times daily and rub in gently until fully absorbed.

Do not use occlusive dressings.

Re-evaluate therapy after 4 weeks.

Use in children: Not recommended for children under 12 years.

Use in the elderly: No special precautions required.

Contraindications:

Known hypersensitivity to piroxicam or any component of the gel

History of allergic reactions (e.g., asthma, nasal polyps, angioedema, urticaria) triggered by aspirin or other NSAIDs

Warnings and Precautions:

-Not suitable for use in children under 12 years

-Use only for indicated conditions

-Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes

-Do not apply to open wounds, infected areas, or skin affected by dermatoses

-Discontinue use if local irritation occurs

-Rare but serious skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson Syndrome (SJS) and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN) have been reported with systemic piroxicam; though not confirmed with topical use, risk cannot be excluded

-If signs or symptoms of SJS/TEN appear (e.g. skin rash, blisters, mucosal lesions), discontinue immediately

-NSAIDs, including piroxicam, may cause kidney issues; although rare with topical forms, monitor renal function if needed

-Do not re-administer in patients with a history of SJS/TEN from piroxicam

Pregnancy:

Use of NSAIDs during pregnancy may affect prostaglandin synthesis, increasing the risk of miscarriage and implantation loss. Dispercam® Gel is not recommended during pregnancy.

Lactation:

Use of Dispercam Gel is not recommended while breastfeeding.

Side Effects:

Due to low systemic absorption, adverse effects are infrequent.

Local effects: Mild to moderate irritation, redness, itching, dermatitis, eczema, photosensitivity

Systemic effects (rare): Nausea, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, gastritis

Respiratory effects (rare): Bronchospasm, dyspnea

Serious effects (very rare): Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis

Storage Conditions:

Store below 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
