Mechanism of action:
Brain-Ox has a selective regulating action on the cerebral blood circulation, adapting the blood flow to the metabolic requirements. It intensifies the cerebral metabolism by increasing glucose oxidation, which releases energy, stimulating the general activity of the body. Brain-Ox increases oxygen uptake and use from the blood by hypoxic neurons. It decreases and equalizes the hemodynamic resistance of the cerebral blood vessels.

Vincamine 30 mg in form of sustained release pellet
Indication:
-Brain-Ox is indicated in the brain vascular insufficiency of varied etiology:
- Progressive vascular insufficiency: tinnitus, dizziness and headache, mental laziness, loss of memory, irritability, lethargy and apathy.
- Chronic vascular insufficiency: brain sclerosis, senile agitation and strokes (traumatic strokes and consequences.

Hepatic impairment:
Although an impairment of the hepatic function was not observed, it should be monitored in long - term Brain-Ox treatment.
Contraindications:
Brain-Ox is contraindicated in:
•Intracranial tumors (or diseases related to increased ( intracranial pressure)
•Convulsive disorders.
• Cerebrovascular accident (acute CVA)
• Cardiac arrhythmia
•Severe electrolyte imbalances (hypoglycemia or hypoglycemia)
• Hypersensitivity to Vincamine or any excipients of the preparation.
Warning and Precautions:
Cardiac arrhythmia:
Brain-Ox should be avoided when hypoglycemia and prolonged QT interval are present as they are predisposing factors for ventricular dysrhythmias.
Heart disease:
Brain-Ox should be given with caution in cases of myocardial infarction, heart disease or heart failure. In such cases, initial doses, clinical and ECG monitoring are recommended.

Sugar intolerance:
Sustained release capsules contain lactose and microspheres made from sugar. Patients With rare hereditary disorders or galactose intolerance, fructose intolerance, lactase deticit, the Lapp lactase deficiency of glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome or sucrose-isomaltase insufficiency should not take this medicine.
Pregnancy:
As no clinical data on exposure to Brain-Ox during pregnancy are available, it should not be used in pregnancy unless the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the foetus.
Lactation:
As no clinical data on exposure to Brain-Ox during lactation are available, it should not be used in breast- feeding women unless the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the baby.
Cardiac disorders:
-QT prolongation, torsade des pointes, ventricular dysrethmias (only after intramuscular or intravenous administration).
Gastrointestinal disorders: Nausea, heartburns, diarrhea, constipation and dry mouth.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: erythema & pruritus
