Composition:

Each tablet contains:
Aripiprazole 5 mg.
Excipients:
Lactose, maize starch, microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropylcellulose, magnesium stearate.

Description:

Abilify is an atypical antipsychotic medicine containing aripiprazole. 
It works by modulating dopamine and serotonin activity in the brain, helping to restore neurochemical balance.
The drug has antipsychotic, mood-stabilizing, and antidepressant properties.
It is used in the treatment of several psychiatric disorders including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder.

Indications for Use:

Schizophrenia.
Acute manic and mixed episodes in Bipolar I Disorder.
Adjunctive treatment of Major Depressive Disorder.
Irritability associated with autism.
Tourette’s disorder.

Dosage and Administration:

Taken orally once daily, with or without food.
Dosage must be individualized by a healthcare provider.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to aripiprazole.
Dementia-related psychosis in elderly patients.

Precautions:

Use with caution in patients with:
Cardiovascular disease.
Seizure disorders.
Diabetes.
Liver impairment.
Patients must be monitored for suicidal thoughts, especially during early treatment.

Side Effects:

Common:
Nausea.
Headache.
Anxiety.
Insomnia.
Akathisia.
Dizziness.

Serious (rare):

Neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
Suicidal ideation.
Orthostatic hypotension.
Seizures.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:

Use only if potential benefit outweighs risk.
Neonates may experience withdrawal or extrapyramidal symptoms if exposed during the third trimester.

Storage Conditions:

Store at room temperature out of reach of children.
