Composition:

Each film coated tablets contains:

Bacterial Alpha amylase 100 mg Eq. to 3000 CEIP U

Inactive ingredients:

Microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, talc, magnesium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide, opadry pink, carmosine red

Properties:

Enzymatic preparation with anti-inflammatory and anti-edematous effects. The mode of action of alpha-amylase is characterized by 1)hydrolysis the polysaccharides of inflammatory exudate, making it more fluid;2)Inhibition of abnormal capillary permeability, decreasing the liquids exit from vessels, to allow a better reabsorption of the edema.

Indications:

Treatment and prophylaxis of edema in several situations. Adjuvant antibiotic therapy.

• Otorhinolaryngology:

-Rhinoplastic, tonsillectomia

-Several interventions (sinusitis, laryngectomy, polypectomies, resection of nasal septum)

-Tonsillitis pharyngitis, laryngitis sinusitis, rhinotraqueobronchitis.

• Pneumology:

-Bronchitis, acute and chronic lung diseases)

-Respiratory complications from infectious diseases

• Stomatology:

-Maxillofacial surgery

-Extraction of impacted teeth

-Simple or multiple extractions

-Several interventions (apical resection, bone grafts, ablation of the submaxillary glands)

-Periodontitis (complimentary treatment)

• Orthopedics and traumatology:

-Post-traumatic and post-surgical edemas

-Simple trauma

-Sprains

-Dislocations

-Reduced orthopedic or surgical fractures

-Intra-articular interventions

-Reconstructive surgery

-Plastic surgery, skin grafts, rhinoplastics

-Facial traumatology, face wounds with or without fracture

-Interventions in soft tissues

• Urology:

-Surgery in external genital organs, phimosis

Dosage and administration:

Orally.

Adults:

The usual dose is 1 tablet 3 times per day, before meals.

It is recommended to administer this medicine in syrup for children.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to Alpha amylase or any of the ingredients

Warnings and precautions:

Hypersensitivity to the active substance.

Pregnancy:

There are no data on the incidence of malformations in animals. Clinically, no cases of malformation or poisoning of the fetus have been reported so far.

However, due to the lack of sufficient information on the use of this preparation during pregnancy, It is best, as a precaution, not to use this medicine during pregnancy.

Breastfeeding:

Due to the lack of data on the excretion of alpha-amylase in breast milk, use of megalase should be avoided during lactation.
